In 2020, Renny founded First In with a vision to empower entrepreneurs who secure our freedom in an increasingly complex and dangerous world. Renny has led and participated in dozens of seed-stage and venture growth-stage financings for First In and, previously, as an angel investor. He is a veteran startup founder, having co-founded security technology company RedOwl Analytics in 2012. RedOwl was acquired by Forcepoint (Raytheon) in 2017. 

Renny began his career as a US Marine Corps intelligence officer and served in Iraq and East Asia. He went on to work in national security and intelligence policy at RAND. 

A graduate of Harvard College (cum laude) and Harvard Business School, he is the host of The Green Door podcast, where he shares the stories of military and intelligence professionals, security technology founders and builders, and creatives.
