Rebecca Gevalt

General Partner

Rebecca joined First In as a General Partner in 2026 to help lead the firm’s dedicated later-stage venture fund, building on First In’s strong track record of deploying over $100 million into growth companies through SPVs.

Prior to First In, Rebecca was the founder and Managing Partner of Dcode Capital, a venture firm focused on later-stage, commercially successful technology companies with the potential to dramatically improve the US government. She launched the fund from Dcode, the venture firm’s related advisory business based in Washington, DC. At Dcode, Rebecca helped build and operate the nation’s largest dedicated federal go-to-market accelerator program, which supported more than 270 companies in launching or expanding their federal business, with more than 40 achieving unicorn valuations.

Rebecca spent more than a decade at the CIA, primarily focused on counterterrorism operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Lebanon. She also worked for several years with In-Q-Tel, the venture capital arm of the US Intelligence Community, identifying and integrating innovative technology startups into national security missions.

Rebecca earned her B.S. from Tulane University on a full academic scholarship and currently serves as an Investment Committee member for the Tulane Venture Fund.
